The Malaysian Government has few programs for preventing human trafficking. The Ministry of Women, Family, and Community development held a conference to teach police and immigration officials to identify trafficking victims. The Royal Malaysian Police held a one-day workshop to develop a national strategy

The Effect of Human Trafficking
For this post, I want 2 share about the effect of human trafficking.First, there is often some form of physical abuse. Victims are often badly beaten so they will do what they are told to do.Sometimes, victims are told that if they do not obey, their families will be hurt or that they will be handed over to immigration authorities.Victims, even once they are released, may be scarred for life.
The effects of Human Trafficking also involve those who are making money from dealing in this criminal activity. The trafficking gain power. The more money and power they have, the more people they can enslave. If Human Trafficking is not stopped, the number of slaves and trafficking will increase every year.
There is a wide range of physical effects on victims of human trafficking. The physical effects may differ depending on the age of the victims and the type of work that a victims is forced to do.If a person is forced into the sex trade, the person can come in contact with some very serious disease. The most life-threatening diseases in the sex trade include HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases.Even if victims of the sex trade are released, their bodies might be so effected by the abuse they receive that they may never be able to have children.
Some victims are forced to take drugs.Traffickers might give the victims drugs so they remain passive and easily controlled.Once victims are addicted to the drugs, they will constantly want to do more. So,even if they are given a chance to escape, the victims might want to stay in order to have in order to have continued access to the drugs. Also, traffickers can use drugs as a punishment. They might take the drugs away until the victims do what they tell them to do.
Almost all victims of human trafficking are placed in a situation of high stress. They might be worried about families that they have left behind. They might be afraid of the people who keep them captive because they are worried they will be beaten. They could,in extreme cases, even be afraid of being killed. There is also the stress of the work they are doing.Working long hours and doing very hard work cause stress.Constant stress can lead to depression cause a person to feel a great sadness about everything in life.

news from star
yestersday night i have read a articel from star is talking about "tour guide charged with human trafficking. The news is from Klang.
A 47-year-old tourist guide claimed trial at two separate Sessions Courts here to trafficking 26 people, including six minors, from China.
Chin Fung Chu, from Sabah, pleaded not guilty to 26 counts of trafficking 17 males and nine females at an open carpark of Bangunan AMC at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Sepang on Aug 4.
The victims were between the ages of 15 and 46 years old.
He was charged under Section 14 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act 2007 -- an offence for trafficking in children carries a jail term of up to 20 years and a fine.
He was also charged under Section 12 of the same act, which carries a jail term of up to 15 years and a fine, for trafficking in persons.
Chin faced the first 13 counts of charges before Judge Datuk Anita Harun.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Siti Syuhada Alwi proposed bail of RM7,000 for each charge, noting that human trafficking was a serious offence.
When appealing for a lower bail, Chin’s counsel J. Ganesan said his client was only an employee and as a tourist guide and he was earning low pay.
He said the high bail would put Chin, who has yet to be convicted, under great pressure.
“He is the sole breadwinner and has to support an elderly mother and a wife who is seven months’ pregnant,” Ganesan said.
He added that the accused did not tell his wife about his arrest as he did not want it to affect her and their unborn child.
He said all his family members were in Sabah and Chin’s younger brother had flown in from their hometown to post bail for him.
Justice Anita set bail at RM5,000 for each charge in two sureties, saying that it was a reasonable bail in view of the jail term provided for in the Act.
She also ordered Chin to surrender his passport to the court.
Later, Chin was charged in another Sessions Court to 13 counts of human trafficking.
DPP Siti Norbaya Jamil also proposed RM7,000 bail for each charge.
Judge Yong Zarida Sazali fixed bail at RM5,000 for each charge in one surety and ordered his passport impounded.
All the cases will be mentioned on Sept 5.

What Factors Contribute to Human Trafficking?
Trafficking in people has been facilitated by porous borders and advanced communication technologies, it has become increasingly transnational in scope and highly lucrative. Unlike drugs or arms, people can be "sold" many times. The opening up of Asian markets, porous borders, the end of the Soviet Union and the collapse of the former Yugoslavia have contributed to this globalization.
Some causes and facilitators of trafficking include:
- lack of employment opprtunities
- organized crime
- regional imbalances
- economic disparities
- social discrimination
- corruption in government
- political instability
- armed conflict
- Mass resettlement for large projects without proper Resettlement and Rehabilitation packages
- profitability
- minimal law enforcement on global sex tourism industry
- legal processes that prosecute victim for prosecution instead of the traffickers
- poor international border defence
