What Factors Contribute to Human Trafficking?

Trafficking in people has been facilitated by porous borders and advanced communication technologies, it has become increasingly transnational in scope and highly lucrative. Unlike drugs or arms, people can be "sold" many times. The opening up of Asian markets, porous borders, the end of the Soviet Union and the collapse of the former Yugoslavia have contributed to this globalization.

Some causes and facilitators of trafficking include:

- lack of employment opprtunities

- organized crime

- regional imbalances

- economic disparities

- social discrimination

- corruption in government

- political instability

- armed conflict

- Mass resettlement for large projects without proper Resettlement and Rehabilitation packages

- profitability

- insufficient penalties agains traffickers

- minimal law enforcement on global sex tourism industry

- legal processes that prosecute victim for prosecution instead of the traffickers

- poor international border defence

What Factors Contribute to Human Trafficking?

1-ECONOMICS.
economics of trafficking Women and children trafficked are considered commodities that are essentially used and then reused. Considered cheap laborers for the slave trade industry because the sale of a woman is viewed as an insignificant loss to society.
direct economic benefits to those involved in the actual trafficking but it also benefits the country as a whole. Finally, business for hotels, air carriers, and tour operators are increased as a result of the business supplied to them by the sex industry.

i think i can help zetty to explain more about ~economic disparities~
Economics disparities is the factor contribute to human trafficking because if imbalance economics hapen.some example i can give is people who rich will become more rich, who poor will become more poor.people who poor will to move backwards.(yang kaya semakin kaya, yang miskin semakin miskin). If that issue still hapen then will effect people find another way to get money to survice.people will choose human trafficking.
That why economics will contribute to human trafficking.

another factor contritube human traffiking is Lack of Awareness: Many people who migrate for work within Indonesia or abroad are unaware of the dangers of trafficking and the ways in which migrant workers are deceived or pushed into abusive or slave-like labor.
in addition another factors is Poverty: Poverty has forced many households to devise survival strategies that have included migrating for work and bonded labor, i.e., renting out a person’s labor to pay off a debt or a loan.
